Public forum 'Sand: Arena'

A wide range of voices will gather this Saturday afternoon to share, question and learn from each other on the topic of beach erosion. The public forum and art activation is hosted by ArtCenter/South Florida. Speakers will include Rob Goyanes, writer and editor for Topic and American Way; and Vince Beiser, award-winning journalist and author of "The World in a Grain: The Story of Sand and How It Transformed Civilization."

When: Saturday, Nov. 17, 3-5 p.m.

BetsyAcaFest Showcase

Also this Saturday, The Betsy Hotel hosts its annual a capella festival at  Miami Beach Senior High School. BetsyAcaFest will showcase a wide range of collegiate and high school a cappella singers, as well as a performance by instructors and a performance by the all-festival chorus at the conclusion of the program.

Ciszak at Treehouse 

Hailing from Brazil, Ciszak takes the stage at Treehouse this Saturday night.

Ciszak represents the new breed of house and tech house producers. Starting as a young musician and developing to a full-time producer and DJ, he kicked off his career with a release on 303Lovers and Go Deeva.  From there, he caught the ear of one of dance music's biggest artists, Claude Vonstroke. This led to the release of “Hypnose” on Vonstroke’s seminal Dirtybird Records in 2015.
