Avengers: Endgame

After the devastating events of Avengers: Infinity War, the universe is in ruins due to the efforts of the Mad Titan, Thanos. With the help of remaining allies, the Avengers must assemble once more in order to undo Thanos' actions and restore order to the universe once and for all, no matter what consequences may be in store.

With a Tomatometer Score of 95 percent and an Audience Score of 89 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, "Avengers: Endgame" is the most buzzed-about movie in the nation.

The Observer's Oliver Jones said, "What you will be getting when you walk into an inevitably overstuffed movie theater is something singular that reflects our age in a way that none of the MCU films that preceded it have — indeed, very few Hollywood spectacles ever have," while Matthew Lickona of the San Diego Reader called it, "A triumph of feeling: of itches scratched, of sorrows and angers eased, even of longings fulfilled."

You can catch it at CMX Brickell City Centre (701 S. Miami Ave.) through Wednesday, May 15 and Silverspot Cinema Metsquare (300 S.E. Third Ave.) through Thursday, May 16. Click here for showtimes and tickets.

Sauvage/Wild

Leo is 22 and sells his body on the street for a bit of cash. The men come and go, and he stays right here... longing for love. He doesn’t know what the future will bring. He hits the road. His heart is pounding.

With a Tomatometer Score of 91 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, this French film, in limited release starting May 10, has become a favorite of critics. "By the end, we've experienced one of the best films about street hustling ever made," said San Francisco Chronicle critic David Lewis, while Peter Travers of Rolling Stone said, "French filmmaker Camille Vidal-Naquet offers a raw and riveting portrait of a gay male sex worker (the quietly devastating Félix Maritaud) and the aching tenderness he brings to his brutal profession."

Sauvage is playing at Silverspot Cinema Metsquare (300 S.E. Third Ave.) through Thursday, May 16. Click here for showtimes and tickets.

The Sound of Music

A tomboyish postulant at an Austrian abbey becomes a governess in the home of a widowed naval captain with seven children, and brings a new love of life and music into the home.

A special Mother's Day screening brings this classic film, originally released in 1965, back to the big screen. With a Tomatometer Score of 86 percent and an Audience Score of 91 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, it's held up well over the years.

Long Shot

When Fred Flarsky reunites with his first crush, one of the most influential women in the world, Charlotte Field, he charms her. As she prepares to make a run for the Presidency, Charlotte hires Fred as her speechwriter and sparks fly.

With a Tomatometer Score of 81 percent and an Audience Score of 72 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, "Long Shot" has proven a solid option since its release on May 3. The New Yorker's Anthony Lane said, "Clearly, Theron can turn her hand to any genre," and Tribune News Service's Katie Walsh noted, "It's 'Veep,' but less absurdly acid-tongued, and a lot more swoony. Still, the incisive cultural and political commentary cuts deep, and Theron and Rogen turn out to be a winning pair."

Get a piece of the action at CMX Brickell City Centre (701 S. Miami Ave.) and Silverspot Cinema Metsquare (300 S.E. Third Ave.) through Thursday, May 16. Click here for showtimes and tickets.

Pokémon Detective Pikachu

In a world where people collect pocket-size monsters (pokemon) to do battle, a boy comes across an intelligent monster who seeks to be a detective.

Set to be released on Friday, May 10, "Pokémon Detective Pikachu" already has a Tomatometer Score of 71 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. Arizona Republic's Samantha Incorvaia said, "The film brings the creatures to life in a fresh way that will leave die-hard masters and rookie trainers wanting a Pokémon of their own more than ever before," while Katie Walsh of Tribune News Service stated, "The cognitive dissonance of populating the sultry human world with fantastical creatures like fire-breathing Charizards and glowing Flareons just makes it that much more silly and weird."

It's playing at CMX Brickell City Centre (701 S. Miami Ave.) through Wednesday, May 15 and Silverspot Cinema Metsquare (300 S.E. Third Ave.) through Thursday, May 16. Click here for showtimes and tickets.
