We originally reported in April 2022 that the Mission District restaurant and cocktail bar Asiento would be closing, and reopening as a new live music club called Madam Racecar.

But that change only lasted for five months. And Asiento is now back to being the same Asiento we’ve known since 2010, but with some new upgrades to the popular restaurant and nightclub at 21st and Bryant streets, including a facelift for its famed outside mural.

“We have added more symbols to the mural and given it a refresh of color,” Asiento owner Debi Cohn tells Hoodline. She adds that the club has “added a stage to the interior to make it easier for bands to play.”

Asiento also revamped their outdoor parklet in early 2025, redoing one of SF’s earliest permitted restaurant parklets. And on the interior, there are new plush, comfy booths at the new and improved Asiento 2.0.

Asiento is located at 2730 21st Street (at Bryant Street), open Monday - Wednesday (5 pm - 10 pm),  Thursday (5 pm - 11 pm), and Friday & Saturday (5 pm - 2 am).
