Under the initiative, dubbed Fort Worth Fiber, subscribers are in line for lightning-fast browsing, streaming, and gaming experiences, without the drag of asymmetrical speeds or spotty coverage, according to the City of Fort Worth.

"The expansion of broadband access is a critical part of our efforts to close the digital divide and ensure that all residents have access to the internet," she said.
