According to a Los Angeles Fire Department alert, the fire was reported at 07:28PM at 3104 E Ganahl St, where a multi-family dwelling experienced a serious blaze on its second floor. The initial reports from the LAFD indicated an offensive attack strategy was underway to contain the situation.

It took just 19 minutes for 43 firefighters, with additional support from the Los Angeles County Fire Department (LACoFD), to not only reach but also to effectively confine and extinguish the fire in one of the duplex's upstairs units. According to a subsequent LAFD statement, there were no reported human injuries as a result of the incident. Echoing the sentiments of heroism often found in these tense scenarios, firefighters successfully rescued two puppies from what could have been a tragic fate inside the burning building.
