The gritty tangle of human trafficking has yielded another suspect, with the Redwood City Police Department announcing the arrest of a 33-year-old Oakland man on charges that include pimping and pandering. The suspect, Marqus Alexander Coleman, was taken into custody by Alameda County probation officers on March 27.

An investigation that stretched back to December by the department's Street Crimes Suppression Team (SCST) first made contact with a victim at a Redwood City hotel. It was through their perseverance that they were able to trace the path back to Coleman. According to a press release issued by the Redwood City PD, Coleman now faces serious time as he was booked into the Santa Rita jail for violation of human trafficking laws.

The Redwood City authorities showed their continuing resolve to combat the blight of human exploitation. "This case is just one of many where we have gone to great lengths to hold these criminals accountable," stated Nick Perna, Lieutenant and Investigations Commander of the Redwood City Police Department, his words ringing with the department's zero tolerance approach towards such heinous crimes.

Evidence seized from Coleman’s residence during the search conducted by SCST detectives further implicates, his involvement in the crime. However, details on the specific nature of the evidence have not been disclosed.
