Fishing enthusiasts in Tennessee are in for an aquatic treat. The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency has announced it will stock community fishing lakes with channel catfish later this April. The stocking will include popular spots such as Cameron Brown Lake in Germantown, Cedar Hill Lake in Nashville, Dickert Pond in Chattanooga, Greenbelt Lake in Maryville, and Fountain City Lake in Knoxville.

The agency has set a daily catch limit of five catfish per angler and emphasized there are no size restrictions in place. However, the fish feast doesn't end with catfish – there are daily caps on other catches too. Fishermen can reel in up to 20 bluegill and redear, one black bass, 30 crappie, and, trout also share the same limit of five per day. According to the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, these fish populations will be continually replenished with more stockings scheduled for May and June.

This move comes as part of the Agency's effort to encourage outdoor recreation and enhance the fishing opportunities in urban areas. It aims to provide anglers of all ages and skill levels accessible venues to connect with nature and practice their fishing techniques.

The fish-stocking schedule is an indication of the agency's commitment to maintaining robust aquatic environments within these community lakes, it also signals an invitation to the citizens of Tennessee to grab their fishing rods and enjoy a day by the water with friends and family. Interested anglers should stay tuned for further notifications from the agency regarding exact stocking dates in May and June.
