A snapped utility pole near Main Street left roughly a third of Ashland City in the dark before Cumberland Electric crews restored service.

Crews poured concrete for a 50-foot wet well along the Cumberland River, a key step toward boosting Gallatin's raw water capacity to 24 million gallons a day.

The five-lane project won't touch pavement for years — first comes buying up the land along Curd Road and Park Glen Drive.
