Law enforcement officials are on the lookout for a man accused of assaulting a pregnant woman in East Bexar County, turning to the community for assistance in locating him. The Bexar County Sheriff's Office has identified the suspect as 30-year-old Dominique Jermal Huggins, who now faces a charge of a 3rd-degree felony in connection to the attack.

Deputies responded to a call for help on Tuesday at an apartment complex where, according to Fox San Antonio, they found the suspect had barricaded himself inside with the victim. Forced to enter by breaching the door, they witnessed Huggins leaping from the balcony of the three-story building, successfully evading capture on foot.

The victim described a disturbing scene to investigators. She recounted how Huggins approached her while she was lying down, without any provocation, grabbed and squeezed her wrists, pinned her down, and then pressed his body onto hers. She detailed the pain and difficulty breathing caused by the assault due to her pregnant state. Nevertheless, the victim managed to extricate herself from Huggins, securing herself inside the home and alerting deputies.

Huggins is described as 6 feet tall and about 190 pounds, often seen around East Bexar County. The Sheriff's office urges anyone with information about Huggins's whereabouts to come forward. The public is reminded to remain vigilant, as the suspect is wanted for a serious offense and should not be approached by citizens. The authorities are determined to ensure the safety of the community and bring Huggins to justice.
