A 21-year-old woman, Kierra Carter, was charged after more than 50 pounds of marijuana were discovered in her suitcase at Memphis International Airport on Sunday, Memphis Police reported. The significant find has put Carter at the center of a felony drug possession case with the intent to distribute.

The stash was stumbled upon after a United Airlines employee spotted her luggage burst open on a baggage cart, revealing vacuum-sealed bags containing the illicit substance, according to WREG. Confirmation that the luggage belonged to Carter was made, and she consented to a search, which led to the substantial marijuana confiscation,

The officers on the scene found 56 pounds of marijuana, which later tested positive for the controlled substance. Upon verification that the bags bore Carter's name tags, the Memphis Police Department proceeded with her apprehension and charge.
