A famed hub for nightlife in Memphis, became a scene of violence early Saturday morning when gunfire erupted, wounding three men. The Memphis Police Department reported to The Commercial Appeal that officers arrived at the 300 block of Beale Street around 3:30 a.m. where they found the victims with gunshot wounds. One of the victims is in critical condition at Regional One, while the other two sustained non-critical injuries.

According to police, the male suspect, whose description includes a white tank top and blue jean shorts, fled the scene, and no arrests have been reported. A Memphis local, identified only as “Nick,” described his perception of the problem in an interview with MSN, attributing the recurring issues to the influx of younger individuals to the late-night venues. He said, "It's a good crowd until the young people come."

The fallout of the incident is resonating with security personnel in the area. Julius Williams, a licensed armed guard, expressed to MSN his frustrations and concerns over increasing disrespect he has faced, questioning the effectiveness and point of his role. "It's gotten to the point where we don't have a right to do anything anymore," Williams said.

It was confirmed that the gunfire took place at Tin Roof nightclub. In a statement obtained by FOX13 Memphis, the Tin Roof clarified that the individuals injured were not its employees but private, unarmed security guards hired by the business. The nightclub has pledged to cooperate with authorities as the investigation proceeds.
