Gunfire erupted on a quiet residential street, leaving one man injured and a community in shock. Kendrick McGregor, 33, from the 900 block of 24th Ave in Bellwood, Illinois, has been hit with serious charges following a violent encounter this past March. The Chicago Police Department, alongside members of the Great Lakes Regional Task Force, collared McGregor on May 23, according to reports. He faces one felony count of aggravated battery with a firearm and another for home invasion causing great bodily harm.

Caught in the 900 block of 24th Ave, McGregor allegedly unleashed bullets on a 35-year-old male before busting into a residence in the 1200 block of S. Fairfield Ave. The horrifying incident took place on March 19, 2024, just as the night had settled deep into its dark embrace. According to the Chicago Police Department, the victim was shot around approximately 11:35 p.m.

Following the arrest, McGregor was slapped with charges and is now waiting to face the music at a detention hearing. The court proceedings will unfold at 2600 S. California on May 25, 2024.
