A traffic stop in Roxbury took a dangerous turn on Sunday evening when police officers arrested Mattapan resident Brevin Dossantos, 26, on charges including firearm possession and drug trafficking. Boston Police Department reported that the incident occurred around 6:42 PM.

According to police, Dossantos was pulled over for speeding along Warren Street. Upon contact, he admitted to officers that his driver's license had expired, and a subsequent check confirmed it was actually suspended. When asked to step out of the vehicle, Dossantos resisted, leading to a violent skirmish with law enforcement. During the altercation, an officer felt what was believed to be a firearm in the suspect's pants.

The struggle ultimately ended with Dossantos in handcuffs. A search revealed multiple bags containing suspected crack cocaine and fentanyl, along with around $1,240 in cash. Officers also confiscated a Springfield Armory XD-9 handgun, loaded with sixteen rounds in the magazine. The narcotics were later quantified, with crack cocaine totaling approximately 21 grams and fentanyl weighing about 16 grams.

Dossantos is now faced with charges of unlawful possession of a firearm, ammunition, a large capacity feeding device, drug trafficking for class A and class B substances, resisting arrest, and operating a motor vehicle without a license. He's slated for arraignment at the Roxbury District Court.
