Authorities are on the hunt for a group of individuals involved in a brazen robbery aboard the Red Line Grand St stop on the evening of May 25th. The Chicago Police Department's Mass Transit Detectives have released a community alert, requesting help from the public to identify the suspects captured on surveillance footage.
The incident took place at approximately 6:55 pm in the 500 block of N. State St. The suspects, described as male blacks, approximately 18-23 years of age, are alleged to have forcibly taken property from the victim while onboard the train. The CPD has disseminated images of the alleged offenders urging anyone with information to come forward.
In light of the recent event, commuters are cautioned to stay vigilant while traveling on Mass Transit lines. Chicago has seen a concerning uptick in transit-related crimes, and the CPD is actively striving to increase security and safety for all riders.
