A local, Arlene Delima who was getting her nails done close by recounted to WPTV reporter Joel Lopez "I was here with my coworker and my client getting our nails done... what I heard was 'pow pow,'" adding to the tension of the situation, she described how "All the entrances are blocked, you know, it's kinda scary," and acknowledging the fear instilled by the incident she said, "This is really scary, the holiday hasn't even started yet." as her testimonial casts a light on the palpable fear that gripped bystanders during the shooting.

The DEA, maintaining the security of the scene has reiterated that the incident presents no current threat to citizens in the surrounding area, nonetheless, the community awaits further details as the investigation unfolds.
