A Doral Police officer found himself on the wrong side of the law after getting nabbed for DUI in the Florida Keys. Officer Johann Karim Delgado, 36, was cuffed Monday night on a misdemeanor charge after the Florida Highway Patrol pulled him over on U.S. 1, near Mile Marker 105, NBC Miami reported.

Details surrounding Delgado’s arrest have been scant, with no elaboration offered by authorities or in the public record. Still, the officer didn't stay behind bars for long; online records confirm he was booked into the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Plantation Key jail facility and was released just after 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to information provided by Local 10 News.

The Doral Police Department has taken a firm stance on the incident. "The Doral Police Department was made aware of the arrest of one of our officers, DPD holds all its officers to the highest standards of conduct and professionalism," per the statement relayed by Doral Police officials. "Any deviation from these standards is not tolerated, and we are committed to a thorough investigation concerning this matter," NBC Miami quoted the department.

While the Doral Police is keeping a tight lid on the situation citing it as an "open investigation", Cmdr. Alicia Neal, the department spokesperson, reiterated the department's stance to Local 10 News, stating, "Any deviation from these standards is not tolerated, and we are committed to a thorough investigation concerning this matter."
