The fateful sequence began to rapidly unfold as the 2012 Toyota Camry, daring to defy the rules of the road, made an illegal left turn and was tragically struck by the semi-truck, as per the Long Beach Police Department. Despite the immediate response and medical aid rendered by Long Beach Fire Department personnel, the driver of the Camry succumbed to their injuries after transportation to a local hospital. The passenger, surviving the initial onslaught, remains in critical condition.
Investigators at the scene gathered that the semi-truck, having traveled westbound on Anaheim Street, had little option but to become an unwilling participant in this deadly dance.
