A fire erupted in a one-story former restaurant in North Hollywood yesterday afternoon but was swiftly subdued by the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD). According to the LAFD's alert, the fire at 6439 N Lankershim Bl began at 1:01 PM, with smoke pouring out of the building as firefighters switched to offensive operations to tackle the blaze inside the establishment which had ceased to serve patrons in its prior capacity as a restaurant. Officials said Battalion 14, as well as several fire stations and crews, were summoned to the scene in Council District 2.

The intensive action of the 26 firefighters on the ground and those positioned on the rooftop bore fruit as they managed to knock down the flames within a mere 17 minutes. The LAFD reported their gusto and determination to extinguish the fire, ensuring it did not propagate beyond its origin to neighboring structures.

Despite the aggressiveness of the incident, no injuries were recounted, with all responding personnel reporting safe. The cause of the fire is presently under active investigation, and details regarding the potential origin and accelerant, if any, remain undisclosed at this hour.
