Tragedy struck Temple, Texas early Sunday when two teens were hit and killed by a motorcyclist. The fatal incident took place near an area already reeling from recent tornado damage, adding a fresh layer of sorrow to the community.

The Temple Police Department has identified the motorcyclist as 18-year-old Logan Mayberry. According to the police, the motorcycle was travelling westbound on West Adams Avenue by Westfield Boulevard around 12:30 a.m. when the collision occurred, KWTX reported. The cause of the crash remains under investigation, as the authorities try to piece together the events that led to the teens' untimely deaths.

The victims, just 14 and 15 years old, were pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Cliff Coleman. Coleman has since ordered autopsies to be conducted. A third victim, whose identity has not been released, was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries; their condition has yet to be disclosed to the public.
