According to a notice from the City of Weston, the courts will be out of commission during daytime hours from 6 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday, starting May 28 and continuing until June 15.

While the volleyball courts have become a mainstay for local enthusiasts and those seeking a casual game under the sun, they will have to share the space with bulldozers and construction crews for a few weeks. The temporary closure also extends to a nearby footpath, putting a detour in the routine for those who frequent the trail. The City aims to maintain accessibility for night and weekend players after the construction team has left the site.

The new thoroughfare is being constructed to provide a secondary option for emergency vehicles to enter and exit the park. The improved pathway is designed to enhance safety for park-goers and the surrounding community. In a statement obtained by the Weston City website, officials outlined, "The City is having an Emergency Access Road built. This will provide for a secondary emergency ingress and egress to the park, enhancing safety for all."
