A late Monday night incident on Indianapolis' north side has left an elderly pedestrian dead following a vehicle collision. The response from the authorities unearthed a distressing scene with the victim, Identified by the Marion County Coroner's Office as 71-year-old Humberto Rodriguez-Garcia, discovered lifeless among the tall weeds on the opposite side of the roadway. The circumstances were confirmed when the driver stated, “I know I hit somebody, but I cannot find the person that I hit.” As standard procedure dictates, the driver was to be tested for intoxication, despite early investigations suggesting the driver did not seem to be impaired at the time.
