The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is currently investigating an officer-involved shooting that took place on Tuesday afternoon in the northeast side of Indianapolis, near the Castleton area. The incident occurred around 3:25 p.m. on the 8400 block of Maple Leaf Lane after officers responded to reports of shots being fired, it's confirmed that officers discharged their weapons and though there has been a shooting involving law enforcement, no officers were injured during the event. The authorities had previously been called to an address in an office park on Wesleyan Road in response to a person shot before the incident escalated leading to the shooting on Maple Leaf Lane, according to CBS4 Indy.

IMPD has urged the public to stay clear of the area between 82 Street and Fairway Avenue on Craig Street, as an investigation was ongoing.
