An off-duty U.S. Secret Service agent was the target of an armed robbery in Tustin, California, this past weekend, during President Joe Biden's visit to the state. The incident occurred shortly after 9:30 p.m. Saturday in the Tustin Field residential community, as reported by NBC Los Angeles. The agent, whose identity has not been disclosed, discharged their service weapon during the robbery, though it remains unclear whether the suspect or suspects were struck during the confrontation.

Following the event, law enforcement recovered some of the agent's belongings near the robbery site but the perpetrators have yet to be apprehended, according to ABC7 News, the Tustin Police Department is currently looking for a silver Infiniti FX35, model years 2004-2006, believed to be associated with the incident and footage of the vehicle has been widely distributed. 

President Biden was in Southern California for a high-profile fundraising event held in downtown Los Angeles with former President Barack Obama and a crowd of Hollywood elites, which included George Clooney, Julia Roberts, and Jimmy Kimmel, the last of whom moderated a discussion between Obama and Biden. The star-studded affair, marked by performances and speeches, succeeded in raising over $30 million for Biden's reelection campaign, as per FOX LA.
