Phoenix has seen a significant drug bust as local police have recently taken a large haul of fentanyl pills off the streets. On May 23, during a routine traffic stop, officers from the Phoenix Police Department's 61X Neighborhood Enforcement Team discovered a vehicle containing a substantial amount of the dangerous opioid. The operation led to the seizure of about 70,000 fentanyl pills, as reported by FOX 10 Phoenix.

Following the traffic stop, the police secured a warrant to conduct a further investigation at a local residence. This operation allowed them to not only recover additional fentanyl pills but also $13,600 in cash, and three firearms. The suspect, identified as 25-year-old Alfonso Gudalupe Cardona Barrios, now faces several felony charges. According to 12 News, the Phoenix Police Department relayed this information in a post on a platform formerly known as Twitter.
