The vegetation fire, deemed the Hesperia Fire, was first reported on Saturday evening on North Highway 173, according to KTLA. CAL FIRE San Bernardino initially spotted it at a modest 7 acres, but the blaze swiftly ballooned to over 1,100 acres by early Sunday morning.

Evacuation warnings have been issued for area residents, notably for those in the vicinity of Lake Arrowhead Estates near the intersections of Highway 173 and Arrowhead Lake Road. The California Highway Patrol has implemented road closures, as the fire, driven by strong winds, moves north. As reported by the CAL FIRE BDU, the fire was reported to be on 700 acres. The firefighting efforts are continuing, with both aerial and ground resources actively engaged in controlling the spread and protecting the structures in their potential path.

No casualties or structural damages have been reported at this juncture. With the fire's containment pegged at 7 percent, firefighters are working diligently through the night, focusing on solidifying containment lines and managing any emerging hot spots.
