Red Lobster Cook in West Palm Beach Accused of Moonlighting as Robber Recognized by VoiceSource: Google Street View

A cook who reportedly moonlighted as a robber found his employment at Red Lobster cut short when his voice gave him away. Ta’Shambae Saleme Greene, 35, from Lauderhill, ended his usual shift at the West Palm Beach establishment early on April 14 because business was slow. CBS12 reports that he allegedly returned later that night, this time with his face obscured and a gun in hand. The Broward County man is accused of commanding the store manager and another employee to open the safe under the threat of that weapon.

Sent home around 6:30 p.m., the masked suspect reappeared around 11 p.m., after the restaurant closed. The West Palm Beach Police Department said the robber did not only demand cash but also pistol-whipped the manager. CBS12 shared that during this violent act, the manager suspected the assailant was her cook, known as Sean, due to recognizing his voice.

Confirming these suspicions, NBC Miami highlighted how the Red Lobster workers identified Greene not just by his voice but also by his distinctive walk captured in surveillance footage. Authorities found items in Greene's residence matching the description of the suspect's clothes, as well as a firearm, and "a lot of cash," as per the West Palm Beach Police Department narrative. NBC Miami noted that despite the robbery, Greene continued his shifts at the restaurant as if nothing had occurred.
