A tragic incident occurred on Saturday afternoon when a woman lost her life in the Rillito River amid an intense monsoon storm. Tucson Fire Department (TFD) and Tucson Police were dispatched to the Camp Lowell and Swan area after receiving reports of woman found in the river. Efforts to resuscitate her were unsuccessful, and she was pronounced dead at the scene, as detailed by 12 News.

The rescue team had responded to the emergency where Rillito River goes underneath North Swan Road. Despite their attempts at life-saving measures, the woman could not be resuscitated. "TFD says that in the span of 90 minutes during Saturday’s intense monsoon storm, they responded to over 25 storm-related calls," according to 12 News. During that period, 15 of those emergency calls involved stranded drivers or individuals caught in swift-moving water.

An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the woman's death is currently underway. However, at this time, authorities have not indicated any signs of suspicious activity related to her demise, as per AZ Family.
