Shortly after, a related event transpired as members of the Prince George’s County Police Department were dispatched to a car crash in the 2400 block of Southern Avenue, Southeast. It was there that they located an adult male victim, who was both unconscious and unresponsive. The man had sustained a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene. According to the MPD, detectives have determined the victim to indeed have been shot on Howard Road Southeast before being involved in the crash.

The deceased has been identified as Demetrius Creek, a local resident from Southeast. His passing marks yet another statistic in the city's ongoing struggle with gun violence, which continues to abruptly snatch the lives of its young denizens. Detectives are working to piece together the events that led up to the shooting and crash.
