Authorities in Houston have arrested 75-year-old Barbara Jean Blue in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred last week. Blue faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon following an altercation that left a 66-year-old man dead, as stated in a release on the City of Houston's official news portal.

The shooting took place on the evening of June 27, at the 15700 block of Baybriar Drive at around 7:30 p.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered the male victim unresponsive in the street, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite the efforts of the Houston Fire Department paramedics, who quickly transported him to an area hospital, the man was later pronounced dead by doctors, his identity yet to be confirmed by the Fort Bend County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The City of Houston's news release details that members of the HPD Homicide Division, Sergeant B. Roberts and Detective J. Wallschlaeger reported that an investigation into the incident revealed Blue, who is the neighbor of the deceased, had engaged in a verbal dispute with the victim prior to the shooting.
