
Beaverton police are in the midst of an investigation following the detonation of an improvised explosive device (IED) that inflicted damage on a patrol officer's vehicle, resulting in minor injuries for the officer involved. The incident occurred in the early hours of Friday morning, near 158th Avenue, where the patrol officer was in response to a reported disturbance in North Beaverton, as reported by KOIN. The officer experienced a sudden flash and explosion which shattered the vehicle's passenger window and left the door damaged.
The Beaverton Police Department is actively seeking the suspect responsible for the attack which, alongside the reported damages, highlights the ever-present dangers faced by law enforcement officers executing their duties, authorities have yet to provide a detailed description of the suspect or suspects who might be responsible for this brazen act of violence. As of this report, the condition of the injured officer has been deemed as minor, and they have been provided with necessary medical attention, according to KOIN.
