Tragedy struck the El Rio community in Ventura County early Sunday morning as a young man fell victim to a fatal shooting incident. The incident occurred in the 1000-block of Collins Street, and the Ventura County Sheriff's Office is actively investigating this distressing event, begging for any witnesses to come forward with information that could aid in piecing together what transpired in the moments that claimed this individual's life. According to a press release by the Ventura County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to the scene at approximately 2:55 A.M. on June 30, 2024, and discovered a 23-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound.
The deputies attempted to immediately render aid to the gravely injured young man before he was transported to a local hospital. Unfortunately, the victim was unable to pull through and was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival at the medical facility. While information is still scarce, the Sheriff's Major Crimes Bureau has taken to thoroughly investigate, seemingly to leave no stone unturned as they to strive to unwrap the circumstances of the shooting. The identities of those involved have not been released, keeping the focus on the search for facts and justice.
