The Schertz Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred early Sunday morning on Columbia Drive, leaving two individuals injured out of the four occupants in a vehicle found riddled with bullet holes. According to KENS 5, officers responded to the scene around 2:45 a.m. after reports of a disturbance, and upon arrival, they discovered the damaged car on the 3700 block of Columbia Drive, not far from Interstate-35.

Diving into the investigation, the police chief mentioned the shooting appears to have been a deliberate act, targeting the victims. Two victims were found inside the car that had been shot up, with the extent of their injuries not immediately clear, as per the information by Schertz Police. The findings at the scene on Columbia Drive led investigators back to Covers Cove, which is a mere two-minute drive away, suggesting the origins of the altercation and subsequent shooting are rooted in the same neighborhood.
