According to the Scott County website, their Summer Spotlight program is offering a slew of free activities designed to keep the mind engaged and the creative juices flowing.

Among the myriad of initiatives is a reading tracking system where participants can opt for print or online mediums to log their literary journeys. "Prefer to track your reading online? You can use Summer Spotlight Online, hosted by Beanstack, instead of paper," advises the county's announcement. 

But the summer offerings extend beyond the page. The library's Events Calendar is bursting with events and programs including Spotlight Storytimes, arts and STEM workshops, and various gaming programs. For those eyeing these offerings, note that some events require pre-registration and it opens two weeks in advance, so mark your calendars and set those reminders.

For the hands-on types, monthly To-Go Activity Packets filled with projects are up for grabs at library locations. "To-Go Packets are completely free, but only available in the libraries on a first come-first served basis while supplies last," as per the Scott County Minnesota. This initiative guarantees a tangibility to the learning experience, inviting kids to take a piece of the library home.
