A violent altercation in an outdoor market parking lot in Travis County erupted into gunfire Sunday night, leaving three people hospitalized, officials said. The Travis County Sheriff's Office responded to a call of shots fired shortly before 9 p.m. in the 8700 block of FM 812, near U.S. 183, according to a KXAN report.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered that the shooting occurred following, "an altercation between several people who are known to each other," per statements shared by the sheriff's office. Although the exact circumstances leading to the shooting have yet to be fully revealed, the authorities detained multiple individuals at the scene. Arrests have not been reported as of Monday morning.

The KVUE coverage of the incident indicates that one victim sustained life-threatening injuries while two others were also wounded but are expected to recover. All three individuals were transported to local hospitals for emergency care. The Travis County Sheriff's Office believes this to be an isolated incident and continues to investigate.
