I received the Pell Grant and I received Bright Futures and it just barely covers my tuition and housing," said sophomore Janaya Lugg, who fears the added cost will push her finances to the brink. Freshman Alek Vinitsky told the outlet he thinks higher prices could make UCF a tougher sell for out-of-state students. Several students said they are already weighing off-campus options for next year as a way to blunt the impact.

Revenue Projections And What Comes Next

The board packet includes a State University System rate comparison along with a multi-year pro forma that shows housing revenue moving from roughly $35.9 million this year toward about $54.2 million by Fiscal Year 2031 under the plan. University officials say that the trajectory allows them to speed up a facilities-condition assessment program and address other capital needs identified in the documents.
