Lower Haight Couple Plagued By Remarkable Streak Of Bad LuckTory Francisco

There are strings of bad luck, and then there’s what’s happened to native San Franciscan and Lower Haight resident Tory Francisco and his wife over the past six months.

Tory's tale of woe begins last July, when that Ford Expedition plowed into a couple cars on Scott Street. Tory’s Jeep didn’t get mentioned in Hoodline’s previous coverage of the incident because it was parked right behind the Chevy HHR you can see in the background of the picture below, and had much less obvious damage.

But the SUV did in fact hit Tory’s Jeep, clipping its curbed wheel and bending the front axle in addition to doing other damage to the body.

“I maxed out the uninsured motorist total for my policy at $3,500,” Tory told Hoodline.

Then, in the great deluge of December ‘14, Tory’s wife’s Toyota Corolla was the car crushed by a fallen tree on Waller Street, which Tory discovered via Hoodline.

I actually saw the article in Hoodline at work and saw her car in your guys' pictures! I rushed home from work, saw that the roof was caved in (and busted out front windshield and rear window). I knew it was totaled from there on out. By the time I got there, city crews had cut the tree off of the car and it sat exposed to the wet weather.

He passed along these photos of the car taken after the tree had been removed:

Tory later found out that his insurance company sold the totaled car on Copart.com for $1,000.

Now, incredibly, Tory’s motorcycle has been stolen from right outside his house:

This is the real bummer. I had a 2006 Suzuki DRZ-400sm that was parked near Scott and Page. It was Thursday (1/29) after 11:00pm and before 8:00am. It was in front of our apartment at 11:00pm (I had done trivia at Mad Dog in the Fog and walked by it before going to bed) and when I went out to go to work in the morning, it was gone. I had it for two years and parked and locked in the same spot (pretty much every night). It was my daily driver and I loved that bike! Probably the shittiest part was that my birthday was the day before... Can you believe that luck?

This is what Tory's bike looks like:

If you know anything regarding the current whereabouts of Tory Francisco’s 2006 Suzuki DRZ-400sm, send Hoodline a tip and please for the love of god give this guy a break.

Tory, as far as we can tell, is trying to stay positive about the whole thing.

Two cars damaged/totaled by freak accident and a motorcycle stolen in six months. It's un-explainable. But even with all this, you couldn't pay me to live anywhere else. Perhaps the universe is telling me to walk more.

Good luck, Tory.
