A new Italian spot, offering pasta and more, has opened up shop in the neighborhood. Called Funculo, the fresh addition is located at 724 S Spring St. Downtown.
Funculo specializes in homemade sauces and pasta cooked al dente, with customers mixing and matcing their favorite ingredients with the "freestyle" menu. Choose a sauce like marinara, pesto cream, or pink vodka sauce; then select from an array of ingredients to customize the dish, like cherry tomatoes, olives, chicken, salmon and more.
There are starters on the menu as well, like garlic focaccia bread, and specials like a meatball sandwich, mac and cheese with bacon, and more.
Funculo has just one review on Yelp, which gives it a five-star rating thus far.
Peter L., who was the first Yelper to review the new spot on September 17th, said: "Delicious, quick, affordable, al-dente Italian! Pros: - Al-dente!! They cook their pasta in a system similar to the sous vide, and which produces quality-consistent pasta! - Delicious."
