A new coffee roastery has opened its doors in the neighborhood. The fresh arrival to Venice, called Four Sigmatic, is located at 1629 Abbot Kinney Blvd.
This new coffee spot is not like your typical roastery: it specializes in mushroom coffee, mushroom superfoods and mushroom elixirs.
"We believe in the real magic of functional mushrooms like Reishi, Chaga, Cordyceps, and Lion's Mane, as well as other superfoods and adaptogens like rhodiola, eleuthero, and schisandra to help us live healthier, more enhanced lives," the company writes on its website.
With the roastery's first brick-and-mortar location, look for mushroom coffee drinks in various forms, including ground coffee and pods for home brewing. Also on hand is coffee with cordyceps—a fungus that aids in anti-aging—and coffee with green coffee bean extract.
There are also a variety of elixirs that help relieve stress and induce sleep, have anti-oxidant properties, provide energy and more. (You can see the full line of products here.)
With a five-star rating out of 15 reviews on Yelp so far, the fresh arrival has been warmly received by patrons.
Alex F., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on September 20th, said: "Stop in and learn about mushrooms in a super cool atmosphere. Very knowledgeable experts will walk you through their mushroom varieties so you can choose the best one for you."
