A new Mexican spot has made its debut in the neighborhood. Located at 4809 Melrose Ave. in Melrose, the new addition is called El Zarape Melrose.
The restaurant's menu is extensive, with an array of Mexican fare like tacos, burritos, seafood entrees, quesadillas, and more.
On the menu, expect to see items like the "Suiza Enchilada" with a creamy tomatillo sauce, "Ensenada Burrito" with white fish and pico de gallo, salmon in chile morita sauce, pork topped with tomato and spinach sauce, and more. (You can check out the full menu here.)
With a five-star rating out of 16 reviews on Yelp so far, El Zarape Melrose is on its way to developing a local fan base.
Patricia D., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on October 18th, said: "Yummy!!! This place is the ultimate Mexican experience! You do not need to travel to Mexico to eat amazing food now. Beware! Your taste buds will explode. This is what East Hollywood needed!"
Yelper Analisa R. added: “My husband loved the food. He said 'write them a great review.' Awesome customer service, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu and fast.”
And Cathy K. said: "I can't say much for customer service, because my friend and I ordered our food to-go, but everyone seemed very nice and friendly. We walked in to find some fun decor and some mellow mariachi."
