A new spot to score ice cream sandwiches and more has opened for business in the neighborhood. Located at 929 W. Jefferson Blvd. in University Park, the new addition is called Baked Bear.
Baked Bear, which specializes in custom-made ice cream sandwiches, has locations throughout the West Coast.
To order, start with your choice of cookies, brownies or donuts, select one of thirteen ice cream flavors, add then add your toppings. You can even have the sandwich pressed and warmed up.
Expect to see cookie choices like chocolate chip, funfetti cake, peanut butter, snickerdoodle, and more. Ice cream flavor options include vanilla, mint chip, cookie dough, rocky road, dark chocolate, and coffee. (You can check out the full list of menu items here.)
With a four-star rating out of four reviews on Yelp so far, the newcomer has gotten a good response.
Jean T., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on September 29th, said: "Pretty good ice cream sandwich, and I would have to say that it's better than CREAM because the cookies are softer, in my opinion. I went during their opening event which was cool!"
And Joy S. said: "Perfect ice cream to cookie/brownie ratio. I would recommend the combo with cookies and cream ice cream!"
