Hungry? A new neighborhood New American spot has you covered. Called Fundamental, the new arrival is located at 750 S Grand Ave. in Downtown.
This is Fundamental's second location; the original is in Westwood. The eatery specializes in seasonal fare, with an array of casual breakfast, lunch and dinner options, as well as an extensive selection of wines and libations.
On the breakfast menu, look for an array of pastries on offer, as well as entrees like a brisket hash with peppers and eggs, a turkey sausage breakfast burrito with tater tots, avocado toast with furikake and radishes, and more.
For lunch and dinner, expect to see items like a smoked brisket sandwich with pickled onions and garlic slaw, kale salad with apples and frosted pecans, smoked mahi mahi on a multi-grain roll, and more. (You can check out the full sample menu here.)
The new eatery has already attracted fans thus far, with a 4.5-star rating out of eight reviews on Yelp.
Melissa G., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on October 12th, said: "Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous! I'm familiar with the Westwood location through a friend, and even had it for catering, which was super delish for a tuna sandwich."
Yelper Jess C. added: “Really glad this opened. I was afraid this would be one of those places where it looks very pretty but the food doesn't taste good. The food is good!”
