A new Japanese spot, offering shabu shabu and more, has opened for business in the neighborhood. Called Bon Shabu, the new addition is located at 601 S. Ardmore Ave. in Koreatown.
This new Japanese shabu shabu spot is all-you-can-eat, with lunch and dinner specials, a variety of protein options, and an array of soup bases to choose from. The price point varies between lunch and dinner and for children, adults and vegetarian dinners.
On the menu, expect to see meat options like American Wagyu chuck tender, prime rib, brisket, pork belly, and lamb leg. There are a variety of veggies to choose from, too, like napa cabbage, kimchi, scallions, and cilantro.
Guests bring back the raw product to cook in hot pots at the table, and can select the type of base to cook with, like bone broth, spicy, vegetable, and sukiyaki.
Bon Shabu has garnered rave reviews thus far, with a five-star rating out of two reviews on Yelp.
Antonio Y., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on October 23rd, said: "I love this place! Food quality is amazing! Clean and service is great. Everybody is so friendly, like a family! I really love this place."
Yelper Scott H. added: “Bon Shabu has a lot of variety of sliced meat, which tastes awesome, and different kind of soup bases as well. I would love to set up all my business dinners and meetings at this place from now on.”
