Looking to chow down on traditional Peruvian fare? Taking over the former Chez Antoine space in Highland Park, the family-owned Rosty has you covered with a variety of ceviche, rice dishes and wood-fired meats.
The new addition at 5511 N. Figueroa St. is helmed by former nurse and Peruvian native Maritza Gomez, who operates the restaurant with her husband and sisters, per Eater Los Angeles.
On the menu, offerings include lomo saltado (sirloin beef sautéed with red onions, tomato and cilantro), a fried pork sandwich served with sliced sweet potato, Peruvian-style seafood chowder, rotisserie chicken cooked in the wood-burning oven or beef heart marinated and seared over the grill.
There's also the ceviche, which comes with white fish or a seafood mix of fish, shrimp, squid and mussels.
With a 4.5-star rating out of 24 reviews on Yelp so far, Rosty has been warmly received by patrons.
Helena G., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on May 1, said, "Incredible food. The menu is broad and fresh. The staff is very attentive and helpful. Overall, a great, authentic and well-executed addition to the neighborhood."
And Michelle P. said, "I've been to several Peruvian restaurants that were flavorful enough, but Rosty added a little something extra. Good meal for your buck and service was quick and friendly!"
Head on over to check it out: Rosty is open from 11 a.m.–9 p.m. on Monday-Saturday and 11 a.m.–8 p.m. on Sunday.
