In search of a new go-to spot for French fare in Denver?
Hoodline crunched the numbers to find the best affordable French bites in the area, using both Yelp data and our own secret sauce to produce a ranked list of spots that'll meet your culinary and budgetary needs.
1. Cafe Miriam

Topping the list is Cafe Miriam. Located at 2217 E. 21st Ave. in City Park West, this creperie and cafe is the highest rated low-priced French eatery in Denver, boasting five stars out of 55 reviews on Yelp.
Touhami ElFahdi launched the cafe with his daughter Miriam last June as a way to spend more time with her before she left for college, BusinessDen reported. Combining their savings, the father-daughter duo invested $110,000 to start up the intimate cafe, which seats 15 indoors and another 15 outside.
At Cafe Miriam, crepes range from the savory Saumon, with smoked salmon, crème fraîche, dill, capers and cucumber, to the sweet Dulce de Leche, featuring the Colombian caramel sauce and Belgian chocolate or cocoa and ice cream. There's also a selection of sandwiches, pastries and smoothies as well as coffee.
2. Detour Bakery

Next up is Detour Bakery, situated at 1479 S. Holly St. With 4.5 stars out of 126 reviews on Yelp, the French bakery has proven to be a local favorite among those looking for an inexpensive bite.
Grab a traditional croissant for $2.50, or choose one with a filling, like chocolate, almond, blueberry, lemon cheese, raspberry or apricot, for $2.75. Other menu options include baguettes and individual quiches.
Caffeinated beverages are also available on the cheap. Grab a drip coffee for $1.50, an espresso for $1.75, cappuccino for $3.25 or a latte for $3.25. All taxes are included in the shop's listed prices.
3. Amore Gelato & Crepes

Amore Gelato & Crepes, located at 535 16th St. in Denver's Central Business District, is another top choice, with Yelpers giving the cheap creperie four stars out of 129 reviews.
Sweet and savory crepes, ranging from $7-$8, are this spot's staple. Try the Bananaberry, complete with banana, strawberry, nutella and peanut butter; or go for something savory like the Chicken Bacon Ranch, which combines chicken breast, bacon, cheese and lettuce.
Frozen treats like gelato and sorbet by the cup or pint, milkshakes and floats ($4.50-$9) are served as well, and diners can counteract their sugar highs with drip coffee and classic espresso drinks.
