Archetype Distillery
119 S. Broadway, Baker

Archetype Distillery is a distillery and bar housed in what was a long abandoned theater.
It distills its own spirits, a vodka called Archangel and a gin called Archrival. The bar incorporates both spirits into the cocktails, such as Angel's Flight (lavender, dill and oolong distillates), the Kitty Galore (vodka, ginger-beer, palm sugar and citric acid), or the Archetype Tonic & Lime (gin or vodka, house-made tonic and lime atomizer served with juniper-smoked pistachios). (See the full drink menu here.)
Archetype Distillery's current rating of five stars out of 10 reviews on Yelp indicates that the new bar is generating a lot of positive interest.
Yelper Lauren P., who was one of the first users to visit Archetype Distillery on February 19, wrote, "This abandoned building now produces beautiful gin and vodka, with subtle sweetness and the smoothest finish this side of the Atlantic. Thanks to the owner's distilling forefathers, they have brought to us a perfectly crafted spirit that makes a wonderful cocktail or can be sipped on its own."
Sarah M. noted, "What can I say? This places will move you. The grittiness of Denver architecture was captured, bottled and dispersed. Picture a cathedral. Picture the city in its raw essence. Archetype bottled the best parts of Denver's downtown origins, its open space spirit, its flavor for nature. Archetype has captured what it tastes like to belong to Denver."
Archetype Distillery is open from 4–9 p.m. on Tuesday-Thursday and 4–10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. (It's closed on Monday and Sunday.)

I had the Lady Bird and company had the Heavy Wet Flummit for our cocktails. The main dining area is a joy to take a picture of. It's just so many colors playing off that hanging decor when the sun hits it."
