Topping the list is Malai Kitchen. Located at 3699 McKinney Ave., Suite 319, in Oak Lawn, the Vietnamese restaurant and brewery is the highest rated Vietnamese restaurant in Dallas, boasting four stars out of 835 reviews on Yelp.

Its menu is largely Asian fusion, but is primarily represented by Vietnamese and Thai cuisine. As far as Vietnamese fare goes, you've got options like xiu mai (Vietnamese meatballs of minced pork, green onions, caramel and herbs), phở ga (chicken, rice noodles, bean sprouts and fresh herbs in a spiced chicken broth) or the phở bo (sliced tenderloin, rice noodles and fresh herbs in a Hanoi-style spiced broth). (See the full menu here.)

Yelper Lauren B., who reviewed it on May 20, said, "We got the Vietnamese meatballs as an app and they were so good. For dinner, I got the chicken pad thai and my husband got a small bowl of beef phở (which was massive). The pad thai was so flavorful and you could tell they use fresh ingredients."

2. D'vegan

Next up is D'Vegan, situated at 9780 Walnut St., Suite 360 E in northeast Dallas. With 4.5 stars out of 161 reviews on Yelp, this Vietnamese eatery serves up vegetarian and vegan dishes and has proven to be a local favorite.

Dishes include noodle soups and rice dishes, such as the vegetable-packed Happy Fried Rice with soy protein and tofu, the Spicy Cha Cha (vegan shrimp, bell peppers, cucumber and tomato) and the Golden Noodle Soup (rice noodles, tofu, soy protein, mushroom, cilantro and green onion served with bean sprouts and mint).

Yelper Helina G. said, "We tried the crispy rolls, made with tofu, taro, carrot, cabbage and soy protein. The dipping sauce was sweet and the perfect complement. For entrees, we tried the Happy Fried Rice and Lemongrass Rice. Both were hugely portioned, well-seasoned, fresh and delicious."

3. Phở DK

North Dallas' Phở DK, located at 14891 Preston Road, Suite 130, is another top choice, with Yelpers giving the Vietnamese spot 4.5 stars out of 130 reviews.

A traditional Vietnamese cafe, its menu includes such classic staples as beef phở (tenderloin brisket and beef meatballs in a beef broth with rice noodles, served with a side of sprouts, basil, jalapeños and lime), grilled pork banh mi and vermicelli served with lettuce, mint, sprouts, pickled carrots and your choice of protein (grilled pork, Korean barbecue beef, roasted chicken or tofu). (See the full menu here.)

Yelper Hanna J. said, "I tried the beef phở, and the meatballs were flavored nicely and not tough. The broth was very flavorful, but not oily or greasy. Delicious and filling! I would definitely return here sometime and dine in, because the place is very clean and inviting. Nice, open space with comfortable seating."

4. Mot Hai Ba

Mot Hai Ba, a Vietnamese diner and bar in Lakewood, is another go-to, with four stars out of 309 Yelp reviews. Head over to 6047 Lewis St. to see for yourself.

Some of its menu selections include blue crab salad, Cha Ca-style halibut ceviche, green curry chicken, banana leaf grouper and phở. (See the full menu here.)

Yelper Janice J., who visited late last year, said, "Come here mainly for the phở ... the beef in the beef phở is very tender and flavorful and the broth is extremely clean (no greasiness/excess fattiness). Maybe not the most authentic phở I've ever had, but definitely one of the best bowls of phở I've ever had."

5. La Me

Finally, check out La Me, which has earned four stars out of 234 reviews on Yelp. You can find the Vietnamese spot at 9780 Walnut St., Suite 140.

The menu is extensive, serving up things like vermicelli bowls, rice dishes, egg noodle soups, Vietnamese porridges and more. Offerings include a vermicelli bowl with a shrimp patty, grilled shrimp, grilled pork, shredded pork skin and egg rolls or the filet mignon steak cubes served with steamed rice.

Zhida Z. wrote, "La Me serves up some bomb Vietnamese food. ... The phở is good, but you can get that at any watered-down Vietnamese place. Be adventurous. I'd recommend the Mi Quang or Bun Bo Hue if you're looking for a noodle dish, and the Com Tam 7 Mon if you're looking for a rice dish."
