Looking to satisfy your appetite for Eastern European fare? Hoodline crunched the numbers to find the top restaurants around Pittsburgh. We used Yelp data and our own secret sauce to produce a ranked list. Here are four places you might want to check out.

1. S&D Polish Deli

First on the list is S&D Polish Deli. Located at 2204 Penn Ave. in the Strip District, the spot is the highest rated Eastern European restaurant in Pittsburgh, boasting 4.5 stars out of 177 reviews on Yelp.

On the menu, you'll find stuffed cabbage, potato pancakes, pierogies, borsch, Polish sausage and more. The deli also has a shop and online store where customers can purchase imported food products from Poland and other adjacent countries.

2. Kavsar Restaurant

Next up is Mount Washington's Kavsar Restaurant, situated at 16 Southern Ave. With 4.5 stars out of 111 reviews on Yelp, the business has proven to be a local favorite.

It offers Uzbek and Russian cuisine, pizza and more. Specialty plates include the Kavsar Signature Dish with sautéed ground beef and vegetables, and the traditional Uzbek lagman featuring noodles in broth with vegetables, spices and beef or chicken. 

3. Jozsa Corner

Jozsa Corner, located at 4800 Second Ave., is another prime choice, with Yelpers giving the Hungarian eatery four stars out of 50 reviews.

House specialties include Transylvanian gulyas (goulash), chicken paprikash with dumplings and cucumber salad, and stuffed cabbage with Hungarian sausages. On Saturday and Sunday evenings, dinners are by appointment only with the chef bringing you "pile after pile of food, you know not what till it arrives," per the eatery's website. 

4. Huszar

Huszar, a bar and Hungarian place on the North Side, is another go-to. The restaurant has received positive feedback from diners, with four stars out of 35 Yelp reviews.

Entrees on the menu include the Lecsos steak cooked with tomatoes, peppers and onions and served with fried potatoes, and the Transylvanian Wooden Platter featuring grilled chicken, pork and steak. Finish off your meal with dessert, with options like Hungarian crepes, a chocolate torte and strudel made in-house. Head over to 627 E. North Ave. to try it for yourself.
