A new restaurant to score ramen and poke has made its debut in Detroit. Called Urban Ramen, the newcomer is located at 4206 Woodward Ave. in Midtown. The 22-seat space is the restaurant's second location in the United States, with the original outpost in Los Angeles, reports Eater Detroit.
Broths are boiled for 16 hours a day and appear in ramen options like the Spicy Miso Ramen with thick noodles, pork belly, bean sprouts and boy choy; Tori Tantan Men with chicken sesame broth, chicken thigh and egg; and the vegetarian Maitake Vegan Ramen with mushroom, broccoli and garlic.
Urban Ramen has garnered rave reviews thus far, with a 4.5-star rating out of 19 reviews on Yelp.
Roxanne I., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on June 29, wrote, "Finally, another ramen spot in Detroit! I've been anticipating this opening for months and it did not disappoint. ... Overall, a fantastic soup with a good serving size for the price. Will definitely be back to try more!"
And Kat U. wrote, "This ramen spot is a gem. Probably the best ramen I've tried within the city. The inside is super trendy and cute. The ramen itself is rich and delicious. The noodles are made in house and are just as good as some of the best ramen spots in LA and NYC, if not better."
Intrigued? Stop in to try it for yourself. Urban Ramen is open from 11 a.m.–3 p.m. and 5–10 p.m. on Monday-Saturday. (It's closed on Sunday.)
