Improper City

Improper City serves coffees in the morning and beers and cocktails in the evening. It is set up to be a spot to work, with a spacious interior and lots of seating.
The new spot offers 36 beer taps and eight draft cocktails with a lineup that includes local beers, wines and ciders.
There's also a 12,000-square-foot patio under construction (set to open later this fall), which will be the largest patio in Denver, according to 303 Magazine.
Once open, the patio will play host to up to six food trucks at once, with plans to bring in local live music, art installations and community events.
Yelpers are excited about Improper City, which currently holds 4.5 stars out of three reviews on the site.
Yelper Michael C., who was the first to review it on July 21, wrote, "Lots of great food trucks come through, [and] they have 30 or so beers on tap, wine on tap and even cocktails on tap. The upstairs is a great spot to take a coffee in the morning and crank out some work."
Sadie B. added, "Seating is versatile and spacious, decorations are beyond trendy and there is even a phone room for business calls! On days I work remotely, I will definitely be coming here, as there is coffee and such during the day, and then beers and cocktails for the evenings and nights."
Improper City is open from 7 a.m.–midnight on weekdays, 8 a.m.–midnight on Saturday, and 8 a.m.–10 p.m. on Sunday.
Novel Strand Brewing Company
305 W. First Ave., Baker

Novel Strand Brewing Company is a brewery that shares the same space as Queen City Collective Coffee, which is open daily before 3 p.m.
According to Westword, the boutique brewery was opened by three friends who met as undergraduates at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York. Novel specializes in small batch ales, with an oatmeal milk stout with vanilla beans as its signature brew.
With 4.5-stars out of three reviews thus far on Yelp, the new brewery seems to be hitting the right notes with locals.
Michaela B., who reviewed it on July 29, said, "We went on a Saturday night and were super impressed with the friendliness and knowledge of the staff. It also doubles as a coffee spot [in the] morning, and I'm definitely interested in going back to check that out. It's a nice open space with lots of seating that easily accommodated our group."
Alex B. added, "I love having this place in the neighborhood! The beer is tasty, the owners are super friendly and it's cozy and local."

Pony Up

Pony Up is a sandwich shop that pairs up its food with cocktails. The sandwiches are all French dips, such as the Alamedia Street Classic (sea salt, rosemary, mayo and beef jus), the Frenchie (roast beef, gruyere, thyme, crispy onions and French onion soup dip) and the Smoked Mushroom (mushroom, Swiss and porcini broth).

For drinks, look for cocktails like the Sky Water (Spring 44 vodka, kaffir lime, coco frio and soda) or the Crimson and Clover Club (gin, raspberry, Fino sherry and pink peppercorn).
So far, it's been a popular addition, with Yelpers awarding it five stars out of eight reviews.
Shannon M., who reviewed it on July 27, wrote, "There are many things that make Pony Up a must-stop: relaxed Denver atmosphere, friendly and unpretentious staff, out of this world French dip sandwich variations, fresh ingredients, cool cocktail menu, reasonable prices and a perfectly 80s playlist."
Chine I. noted, "This place is legit. The smoked mushroom sandwich might be top five in Denver. The staff is friendly and their cocktails are on point. The perfect spot to grab some late munchies!"
