Looking to explore the best chocolatiers in town?

Hoodline crunched the numbers to find the top chocolate shops in Denver, using both Yelp data and our own secret sauce to produce a ranked list of where to venture next time you're looking to satisfy your sweet tooth.

1. Sweet Cooie's

Topping the list is Sweet Cooie's. Located at 3506 E. 12th Ave. in Congress Park, the chocolatier, which also offers ice cream and more, is the highest rated chocolate shop in Denver, boasting 4.5 stars out of 145 reviews on Yelp.

If you're there for chocolates, it offers handmade chocolate truffles, which you can purchase individually or by the half dozen.

Besides chocolate truffles, look for ice cream served on handmade waffle cones, ice cream sandwiches, malts, shakes and floats.

Yelper Liz S. wrote, "This is my favorite ice cream shop in town. Adorable interior design in the style of an old-fashioned soda fountain and the workers even dress as soda jerks. The ice cream is great."

2. Chocolate Lab

Next up is Congress Park's Chocolate Lab, situated at 2504 E. Colfax Ave. With 4.5 stars out of 93 reviews on Yelp, the New American concept restaurant and cocktail bar has proven to be a local favorite.

Infusing chocolate or cocoa powder into unexpected places, you'll see menu items like the pulled pork sandwich (with bourbon-chocolate barbecue sauce, pickled onions, broccoli slaw and kettle chips) and the scallops (bok choy, street corn, dark chocolate chimichurri, white chocolate mango chutney and cotija cheese). Even its cocktails incorporate chocolate.

For more traditional chocolate offerings, look to the truffles, chocolate-covered peanuts, chocolate bark, chocolate-covered marshmallows and more.

Yelp reviewer David P. wrote, "What a unique eating experience this is. You must have some affinity for chocolate, but you don't have to be a chocolate lover to appreciate the creativity of the food and the artwork that goes into the drinks. It's hard to compare this place to anywhere else."

3. Stargazer Fine Chocolates

Stargazer Fine Chocolates, located at 700 Colorado Blvd., Unit C, is another top choice, with Yelpers giving the chocolate shop five stars out of 28 reviews.

The family-owned chocolate shop offers an array of truffles, including the Argyle (dark chocolate ganache infused with scotch, honey and ginger in a dark chocolate shell), the Death Star (dark and ivory chocolate ganaches combined in the center, then rolled in milk chocolate and cocoa powder) and the London Fog (a mini milk chocolate tea cup that holds milk chocolate ganache infused with Earl Grey tea and vanilla bean, plus a tiny sugar cube). See the full listing of truffles here.

Indigo S., who reviewed it earlier this year, said, "Their chocolate is absolutely fantastic! I had the orange habanero, which was a perfect blend of spicy and sweet, and the rosemary honey, which literally stopped me mid-sentence as I took a bite. The explosion of flavors derailed my thoughts. I wanted to try everything in the case!"

4. Roberta's Chocolates

Roberta's Chocolates, a candy store with chocolates and more in northwest Charlotte, is another much-loved go-to, with 4.5 stars out of 54 Yelp reviews. Head over to 4840 W. 29th Ave. to see for yourself.

Its chocolates and truffles can be bought by the individual piece or in pre-made gift boxes. It also offers candies, covered nuts and more. Options include milk chocolate pretzels, milk chocolate raisins, dark chocolate caramel cashew patties, white chocolate caramel pecan patties and Denver mint truffles, among others.

Yelp reviewer Leanne C. wrote, "I love visiting this chocolate shop! If you're looking for unique and delicious chocolate gifts and Colorado gear, this is the place! Their chocolate confections are beautiful and fun and taste great! You just have to experience it for yourself!"
